The Allegro Handbell Ensemble
is the concert handbell ensemble of the Union
Church of Hinsdale. Directed by Michael Surratt, the choir
performs for a variety of functions, including civic events, church services, and on local television and radio programs.
Since 1977, the Allegro Handbell Ensemble has toured each summer, performing across the United States and Europe, as well as parts of Canada and Mexico. For more information about the choir, see

2008 Summer Concert Tour
In June 2008, the Allegro Handbell Ensemble will return to the scenic Pacific Northwest, appearing in venues in the state of Washington and the province of British Columbia. With nine public performances on the itinerary, be sure not to miss this great opportunity for an evening of music and fun! All performances are free and open to the public.
December 21, 2007 -- CHICAGO, ILL. -- The Allegro Handbell Ensemble was featured today on NBC's In the Loop with iVillage at 11:00 AM CT on select NBC stations, including the Windy City's WMAQ Channel 5.
The show's hosts Ereka, Bill, and Kim, warmly greeted the ensemble members, who performed holiday favorites Deck the Halls and We Wish You a Merry Christmas (view clip). The nationally-syndicated program was produced live-to-tape on Thursday afternoon in advance of the holiday weekend, but was filmed before a live studio audience.
