In Concert (Again) Volume VII
The 1993 Allegro Handbell Choir
Released: 1993 Original Medium: Compact Disc & Audio Cassette Original Price: $15.00
|
Historical Note Volume VII was recorded live at two concerts, one at Union Church just before leaving on the 1993 Summer Concert Tour and the other at Union Church during the Annual Christmas Concert following the 1992 Winter Concert Series. It features a full hour of music, half of which are holiday selections and the remaining half are several concert selections from classical music and compositions especially for handbells. The album was originally titled as "In Concert," but for all practical purposes it has been rebranded as "In Concert (Again)" to avoid confusion with Volume V.
From the Insert
The Allegro Handbell choir is composed of fourteen high school age members with one to eight years' ringing experience. They have toured extensively in the United States, Europe, and Canada.
Conducted by Michael Surratt, Director of Music and Organist at the Union Church since 1979, teh bell ringers perform with five octaves (61 bells) of Schulmerich bells, made in Sellersville, Pennsylvania.
